Alone

Have you ever felt forgotten about? Have you ever felt alone even though you had a ton of people around you? Life gets like that sometimes. You may not even be able to call your best friend when you're in a time of need. You stare out the window, looking at all the passerbys wondering how will I make it through this one? How will I rise above this? Why can't I get help when I need it? No one remembers me. Everyone has left me.

Your loneliest moments are actually the greatest moments in your life. If you had a bunch of people around you all the time, how would you ever get the chance to discover yourself and your needs? Your quiet moments are to be treasured. There is inspiration in quietness. Did you ever find that you were able to think better when things are quiet and at rest in your life. Isn't this one of the main reasons why we go on vacation? For peace and quiet?

Don't despise your moments. How you spend those moments will determine your destiny. It's a time for reflection, a time for new thoughts and ideas. A time to refocus your life, your goals, and your purpose. Maybe read a new book, create a new invention. The possibilities are endless.

Often times we don't cherish our moments but instead listen to outside influences telling us that we're just lonely and without. We think we have to get a new boyfriend or girlfriend, or go shopping to add stuff. Surely, these will fill our empty moments. Why not just focus on YOU? What is it that YOU would like to do in life? What is it that YOU would like to focus on? What do YOU like to do to relax?

Everything else will follow and get this...once you have a clear direction, purpose, and focus, all of the other added stuff will compliment your purpose and will flow. Why just accumulate things when you have no idea why or for what purpose those things serve? In other words if I don't understand where I'm going in life, how can I bring someone else into my world to share in my chaos? Wouldn't you rather that new mate help you get to the place where you want to be?

I know I might be getting a little off the topic here but the same way with things. Let me max out my credit cards today to go shopping because I feel lonely. Why? Did you take the time to remember that your credit card serves a purpose? Maybe God wanted you to use your credit card to help someone get a meal or to buy that homeless person you just saw on the street new shoes. Everything serves a purpose, even your quiet moments. Otherwise, it becomes waste.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:" I urge you to read the entire chapter.

So, think about what you do in those ALONE MOMENTS. Be resourceful and use your time wisely. You can never get time back. Make every moment count for something.

Child-like Inspiration

Today, Oprah Winfrey showcased some of her picks for the world's most talented kids. Their talents ranged from singing and dancing to concert pianists, all under age 18! With children, nothing is impossible! They dream far beyond what their eyes can see. Have you ever desired to dream like this? Have you ever desired to do what seems impossible?

Where do they get such inspiration and talent? Have you been boggled down lately with life's issues? Have you allowed life and "the real world" to stop you from dreaming? What has been stopping you from your dreams?

A dream is important to any innovator. Without a dream and goals, we are just existing instead of living. In fact, the Bible says in Proverbs 29:18 that without a vision, the people perish. The world is looking for inspiration. Your dream is valid no matter how insignificant others might think it to be. It might just be what the world needs to see the light and love of Christ in a dark, troubled world. This is your motivator, your reason for getting up in the morning. Forget the cup of coffee. You have something in you bursting out at the seams ready to be created. The world is waiting on that dream and vision. Live your vision so that others can see and be helped in their time of need.

One of Oprah's picks, Charice Pempengco

These young ladies, Angels of Praise, are so creative and powerful! There are no limits to their talent. I'm sure we will be seeing much more of them.

Can you believe that these are those same three girls?

Don't be Defeated By Life's Challenges

What do you do when faced with life's challenges? Do you face them head on or do you crawl under your covers wishing it would all go away? Do you complain and murmur the entire time? Challenges are a part of life. As long as you live, you will be faced with a challenge or a difficulty. Some will be harder than others.

When presented with an obstacle, a challenge, or a difficult situation, take some time to calm down and to think thoroughly. It is too easy to make a bad decision when you are emotional. Someone may have done something to hurt you whether mentally, spiritually, emotionally, or physically but is it really worth it to retaliate? Is it worth losing sleep over? Will you stoop yourself down to their level? They did it because they were expecting something back from you. They wanted you to be angry and miserable like them.

Make a decision to rise above the mess. Make a decision to continue on with your life. Creative people have learned to turn life's challenges into success. Some of the greatest works have been birthed out of pain. That challenge that came to trouble you is actually your answer in disguise. Well, what do you mean my problem is my "answer"? I mean that your problem is developing something great and something good in you. It is teaching you to be wise. It is teaching you to create. It is helping you move forward in life. Turn that problem into POWER! Turn that power into YOUR DREAM!

These are three people who have faced difficult challenges and have overcome them. No introduction needed. I'm sure you've heard of them.

The Power of a Creative Idea

An idea is one of the most powerful things on earth. An idea is how things give birth. I want you to do something for me. I want you to create an idea journal. Write down and keep a record of any and every idea you get. It may be an idea that came to you to do something more better and efficiently. It may be an idea for a business, an invention, or maybe even a painting. Whatever it is, write it down. These ideas will begin to become reality as you cultivate them. By cultivate, I mean, study them, rehearse them, speak them, gather information on them, etc. Nurse them as you would a baby. No idea is stupid or far fetched so don't be afraid to write it down, no matter how silly it may seem. The more you rehearse these ideas, the more real they become to you and not before long, you will begin to find yourself actually walking in them. You can turn an idea into a reality. An idea without watering and nursing is just that - an idea. Make your idea come alive just as you would water a plant. Your ideas will eventually create opportunities and will open doors that you may never even have imagined. The Word of God is critical to the process. It is your roadmap. Begin this journey today and be inspired to think about how your ideas are able to help others in the process.

Be You

Are you waiting for a miraculous event to take place in your life? Are you just wishing and hoping that things will change? Are you waiting on others to make the important decisions in your life for you? Are you waiting for God to come and perform a little miracle for you or is it that when you get to heaven things will be different?

I have good news for you. God is already here, equipping us and molding us, empowering us. He lives through us by way of the Holy Spirit which is available to all who believe. That's why change starts with us. What is it that you want to see different in your life or in the world? God has given you the tools to create the change and to shape your own destiny. Well, you might say, "I'm just an artist, what can I do?" You may be just an artist, or a performer, a dancer, or a poet but that one paintbrush, dance, or poem that God has placed in your heart and in your hands can be used as a powerful tool, as an instrument in the hands of God to affect change. God can use your gifts to inspire and motivate others right now.

Will you take the leap and dare to be different or will you decide to be just another face in the crowd? Will you be you in all of your uniqueness and awkwardness? The point is that you were created for a reason. Your uniqueness and awkwardness makes you, you. The world would be boring without you. You have something special to offer the world that no one else possesses? Isn't that amazing!

The following videos show people with unique gifts who dare to be different:

Yes, even this video is unique because someone by the name of Stephanie DeChant took the time to think about it and create it. Text laid out and arranged to music provokes a powerful emotion!

I Will Run

Sometimes the sacrifices we are required to make are many. Purpose and destiny never comes without sacrifice and it is never easy. Friends, family, jobs, even wealth may be sacrificed in efforts to achieve your dreams. That's right, I said "wealth" because wealth does not automatically mean suucess. Success is much more. It is prospering in every area of your life, your family, your health, your body, etc. Many opportunities may come and may even look like they're the right ones for you at first. With careful consideration though, you may find that they have nothing to do with your purpose and destiny. They may be great but not necessarily the ones that were meant for you. It is better to trust in God who knows your purpose than to trust in fame and fortune. Life without purpose is useless. Will you run towards purpose even though everything around you trys to push you back? Will you run for destiny even though everyone tells you your dreams will never happen? Will you endure? Everything you sacrifice in God will turn into dreams so much more than you ever imagined, not only dreams but purpose, what you were created to do.

Fireproof Your Relationships

I don't know what it is lately with these movies but this Mother's Day, I decided to watch Fireproof. It was so worth it! I was inspired. A firefighter decides to take on a 40 day dare to help save his marriage but the movie was about so much more than a marriage. It carried themes of forgiveness, unconditional love, and committment. It made me realize that the same energy I put into my work can be the same energy I put into meaningful realtionships - personal and business.

God loved us despite our underserving attitudes so why do we find it so hard to love others when they have done us wrong? Easier said than done, right? I realizeed that this grace only comes from the strength and surrenderance to God. No way can we do this on our own. The willingness to let it all go, gives us an unimaginable freedom. Not only for us, but for the person who offended us as well.

At the end of the day, all the arguments, strife, and angry comments don't really matter anyway. Love is what really counts. I dare you to fireproof your relationships for 40-days as the book in the movie suggests. See if your life doesn't change for the better. You'll have to watch the movie to get the details though. Here's a snidbit:

Slow Fade by Casting Crowns used in the movie shows the importance of Family and Relationships:

Inspired By The Movie, Slumdog Millionaire

I always wondered what the hype was all about. Now I've finally seen it for myself. What a movie! Isn't it amazing how destiny follows you? It wasn't expected that a poor boy from the slums of India would know the answers to life's questions, but his life experiences taught him these answers.

As artists, we are often thought of as lacking knowledge and wisdom. Creative people are often misunderstood and overlooked by those with "real jobs". Artists are some of the most intelligent people on the planet, I think. We are the ones who draw from our own experiences to create powerful works that cause others to think differently. We are not afraid to express ourselves boldly and blatantly.

We pour our life's experiences onto canvas or use our body movements in dance to express our challenges. Life's experiences, even the most difficult ones, shape the person whom we become. Everything is connected. The decisions we made in the past affect our future.

Destiny is a full circle. Ever heard of the term, "What goes around comes back around again?" Well, it is actually true. Although the Bible describes it as the golden rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It really doesn't matter what people have done to us. It matters how we have reacted and what we have done. For us artists, our reaction is our work.

Even though bad things may have happened to us, God holds our hand as a Father holds his child. He will make sure that those bad experiences become our stepping stones to success. Our experiences will teach us if we allow them to and will lead us into destiny and purpose. Excellent Movie!!

Inspired Love Letter

If you wrote a love letter to that special someone, what would you say? I'm sure your words would bring inspiration, encouragement, and hope. Did you ever try writing a love letter to yourself? Check out this love letter written from the heart of God to you.

Inspiration Through Song

If you like singing as much as I do, then you know the power of a song. It can take you to a totally different place when you are belting out those lyrics. Singing coupled with music can empower you and bring you into the place where the artist wants you to be. Singing to God is an expression like no other.

When I heard this song, it made me forget my painful past and look forward to my exciting new future. I have seen so many people touched and encouraged by the lyrics of a song. Worshipping God through this song caused me to remember His divine inspiration and connection to a God bigger than myself and my mistakes. I remembered that through all of my bad decisions, God was still there pouring out His undescribable love.

Calvary by Stephen Sawyer

Sometimes we get involved in things that hurt us. What we don't realize is that we are not only hurting ourselves but Christ, our family, our friends, and those who are the closest to us. When we think we are all alone, Christ stands in the gap. He is the unseen God, willing to take on our pains.

The following is a related performance that shows God's unwillingness to forsake us even in our bad decisions.

Akiane - Art Inspired by God

You don't have to be an adult to be inspired. You may have seen this young girl, Akiane, on Oprah:
