Have you ever felt forgotten about? Have you ever felt alone even though you had a ton of people around you? Life gets like that sometimes. You may not even be able to call your best friend when you're in a time of need. You stare out the window, looking at all the passerbys wondering how will I make it through this one? How will I rise above this? Why can't I get help when I need it? No one remembers me. Everyone has left me.
Your loneliest moments are actually the greatest moments in your life. If you had a bunch of people around you all the time, how would you ever get the chance to discover yourself and your needs? Your quiet moments are to be treasured. There is inspiration in quietness. Did you ever find that you were able to think better when things are quiet and at rest in your life. Isn't this one of the main reasons why we go on vacation? For peace and quiet?
Don't despise your moments. How you spend those moments will determine your destiny. It's a time for reflection, a time for new thoughts and ideas. A time to refocus your life, your goals, and your purpose. Maybe read a new book, create a new invention. The possibilities are endless.
Often times we don't cherish our moments but instead listen to outside influences telling us that we're just lonely and without. We think we have to get a new boyfriend or girlfriend, or go shopping to add stuff. Surely, these will fill our empty moments. Why not just focus on YOU? What is it that YOU would like to do in life? What is it that YOU would like to focus on? What do YOU like to do to relax?
Everything else will follow and get this...once you have a clear direction, purpose, and focus, all of the other added stuff will compliment your purpose and will flow. Why just accumulate things when you have no idea why or for what purpose those things serve? In other words if I don't understand where I'm going in life, how can I bring someone else into my world to share in my chaos? Wouldn't you rather that new mate help you get to the place where you want to be?
I know I might be getting a little off the topic here but the same way with things. Let me max out my credit cards today to go shopping because I feel lonely. Why? Did you take the time to remember that your credit card serves a purpose? Maybe God wanted you to use your credit card to help someone get a meal or to buy that homeless person you just saw on the street new shoes. Everything serves a purpose, even your quiet moments. Otherwise, it becomes waste.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:" I urge you to read the entire chapter.
So, think about what you do in those ALONE MOMENTS. Be resourceful and use your time wisely. You can never get time back. Make every moment count for something.
